1921 Morgan Silver Dollar - PCGS MS-64
Offered here is an authentic 1921 Morgan Silver Dollar, struck at the Philadelphia Mint and certified by PCGS as MS-64.
The 1921 Morgan Dollar represents the final year of the Morgan Dollar series and marked the return of the design after a 17-year interruption in production following the 1904 issue. Morgan Dollars were revived in 1921 under the requirements of the Pittman Act before being replaced later that year by the Peace Dollar.
The Philadelphia Mint produced 44,690,000 Morgan Dollars in 1921, the largest single-year mintage from any mint in the Morgan Dollar series. As a Philadelphia Mint issue, this coin carries no mintmark.
Designed by George T. Morgan, the obverse features the iconic portrait of Liberty surrounded by stars and the date, while the reverse depicts a heraldic eagle with outstretched wings surrounded by a wreath. The 1921 Morgan Dollar was produced using newly prepared hubs, resulting in several design characteristics that distinguish it from earlier Morgan Dollars.
Graded MS-64 by PCGS, this example is certified in Choice Mint State condition with no wear from circulation. Coins at the MS-64 level typically display strong overall luster and attractive eye appeal, with only minor contact marks or imperfections consistent with the assigned grade.
