2015 Bullion Silver Eagles PCGS MS-70 Silver Eagle First Strike Mercanti

2015 American Silver Eagle - PCGS MS-70 - First Strike - Mercanti

Offered here is an authentic 2015 American Silver Eagle, certified by PCGS as MS-70 First Strike with a Mercanti designation.

The American Silver Eagle has been the official silver bullion coin of the United States since its introduction in 1986 and remains one of the most widely collected modern U.S. silver coins.

The obverse features Adolph A. Weinman's celebrated Walking Liberty design, originally introduced on the Walking Liberty Half Dollar in 1916. Liberty is depicted walking toward the rising sun while carrying branches of laurel and oak.

The reverse features John Mercanti's Heraldic Eagle design, depicting an eagle behind a shield with an olive branch and arrows in its talons and thirteen stars positioned above. Mercanti served as Chief Engraver of the United States Mint and designed the reverse used on American Silver Eagles from 1986 through 2021 Type 1 issues.

Struck in 99.9% pure silver, the coin contains one troy ounce of silver and carries a legal tender face value of one dollar.

Graded MS-70 by PCGS, this example has received the highest numerical Mint State grade assigned by PCGS. The First Strike designation indicates that the coin met PCGS requirements for certification within the qualifying initial release period. The Mercanti designation adds further collector interest by associating the certified issue with the designer of the classic Heraldic Eagle reverse.
