2016 American Silver Eagle - PCGS MS-69 - 30th Anniversary - First Strike
Offered here is an authentic 2016 American Silver Eagle, certified by PCGS as MS-69 First Strike and issued during the 30th anniversary of the American Silver Eagle program.
First introduced in 1986, the American Silver Eagle is the official silver bullion coin of the United States. The 2016 issue marked 30 years of American Silver Eagle production, giving the date additional significance for collectors of the series.
The obverse features Adolph A. Weinman's celebrated Walking Liberty design, originally introduced on the Walking Liberty Half Dollar in 1916. Liberty is depicted walking toward the rising sun while carrying branches of laurel and oak.
The reverse features John Mercanti's Heraldic Eagle design, depicting an eagle behind a shield with an olive branch and arrows in its talons and thirteen stars positioned above.
Struck in 99.9% pure silver, the coin contains one troy ounce of silver and carries a legal tender face value of one dollar.
Graded MS-69 by PCGS, this example is certified at the near-perfect Mint State level. The First Strike designation indicates that the coin met PCGS requirements for certification within the qualifying initial release period.
