2011-W Proof American Silver Eagle - PCGS PR-69 DCAM
Offered here is an authentic 2011-W Proof American Silver Eagle, struck at the West Point Mint and certified by PCGS as PR-69 Deep Cameo.
The 2011 American Silver Eagle marked the 25th anniversary of the American Silver Eagle program, which began in 1986. This anniversary-year issue combines the series' classic designs with the distinctive finish and presentation of a collector proof coin.
The obverse features Adolph A. Weinman's celebrated Walking Liberty design, originally introduced on the Walking Liberty Half Dollar in 1916. Liberty is depicted walking toward the rising sun while carrying branches of laurel and oak.
The reverse features John Mercanti's classic Heraldic Eagle design, depicting an eagle behind a shield with an olive branch in one talon and arrows in the other, with thirteen stars positioned above.
The 2011 Proof Silver Eagle was struck at the West Point Mint and bears the distinctive "W" mintmark. The coin contains one troy ounce of .999 fine silver and carries a legal tender face value of one dollar.
Graded PR-69 by PCGS, this example is certified at the near-perfect proof level. The DCAM, or Deep Cameo, designation recognizes the strong visual contrast between the deeply mirrored fields and sharply frosted design elements.
