2011-S Silver Eagle NGC MS-70 25th Anniversary Set

2011-S American Silver Eagle - NGC MS-70 - 25th Anniversary Set

Offered here is an authentic 2011-S American Silver Eagle, struck at the San Francisco Mint and certified by NGC as MS-70, with the 25th Anniversary Set pedigree.

The 2011 American Silver Eagle marked the 25th anniversary of the American Silver Eagle program, which began in 1986. To commemorate this milestone, the U.S. Mint released a special five-coin American Eagle 25th Anniversary Silver Coin Set featuring multiple Silver Eagle finishes and mint varieties.

This example is the special 2011-S uncirculated Silver Eagle produced specifically for the 25th Anniversary Set. Unlike standard bullion Silver Eagles, this coin bears a physical "S" mintmark identifying its San Francisco Mint origin.

The U.S. Mint limited the 25th Anniversary Set to only 100,000 sets. Because the 2011-S issue was available exclusively in this set, its production was likewise limited to 100,000 coins.

The obverse features Adolph A. Weinman's celebrated Walking Liberty design, originally introduced on the Walking Liberty Half Dollar in 1916. Liberty is depicted walking toward the rising sun while carrying branches of laurel and oak.

The reverse features John Mercanti's classic Heraldic Eagle design, depicting an eagle behind a shield with an olive branch and arrows in its talons and thirteen stars positioned above.

Struck in 99.9% fine silver, the coin contains one troy ounce of silver and carries a legal tender face value of one dollar.

Graded MS-70 by NGC, this example has received the highest numerical Mint State grade assigned by NGC.
